I like to say that WP Clone do not works at Startlogic Servers (www.satrtlogic.com) with WP 4.X.
I discovered iy in a hard way, installing both and wasting more than one hour work.
WP Academy should investigate why this happens, to increase the servers list that allow install this plug in, that, working, seems to be a good tool.

I've just taken over a site, and want to clone a test version on my own hosting.
I've installed the plugin, and tried a full back but never see the backup URL. (the databse backup works okay)
There is a lot of site content outside the WP folders
wp-admin
wp-content
wp-includes
but presumably the WP Clone only tries to backup these folder?

Ive run into a bug on 3 sites that ive moved with the WP Clone tool.
The cloning process runs beautifully but the new site has theme issues. The theme options arent very reliable anymore, basically the site is not listening, changes made to theme options arent made.
This has happened on 3 sites with 2 different themes. Not EVERY theme options, just random things... Like a logo upload doesnt show, or slider settings no longer work.
Ive tried deleting the themes and installing fresh copies, but it doesnt fix the problem.
Has anyone run into this issue? Is there anything that can be done to fix it?

This is a message to anyone having issues with backing up or restoring. I was able to resolve my issue. The problem was with my php.ini file. I had our server admin increase the php.ini to 256M. I'm not sure if this will help you in your particular case, but it helped with me and the theme I was using.
Try increasing your php.ini and hopefully you'll be good to go.

I tried to restore a clone made with WP Clone plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-clone-by-wp-academy/) from one domain to another and after a successful restore message of WP Clone when I try to check the website (access the front end) I've got:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/.../wp-content/plugins/mapbox-for-wp-advanced/mapboxadv.php on line 39
Any ideas or quick fixes?
All this on a fresh WP 4.2.2, Hello Dolly deleted and WP Clone installed and activated.

Hi support,
I backed up a website I developed on my local machine (localhost), and uploaded the backup file to a live site (with valid url). Then I restored using this backup file.
I then changed the url of certain pages and links (manually) to make sure that they refer to the right pages and links.
I have encountered 2 problems
1. My mailchimp form, using another plugin which works fine in the localhost, but fails to valid the Mailchimp API on the live site.
I have tried everything, deleted the plugin, changed the form, changed APIs, but still could not get the live site access to the API. But it works fine on localhost.
2. I now want to create a backup file on the live site, and when I went to execute it, it went away trying to perform the task, but ultimately comes back with the message below.
"The plugin encountered an error during the database backup,the following error message was returned:
Error Message : MySQL server has gone away
Temporary files created in /home/www/vietnamesecommunity.org.au/wp-content/uploads/wp-clone/wpclone_backup will be deleted."
I even deleted the WP Clone plugin, and reinstalled it but still didn't work.
Much appreciate if you can tell me what problems am I encountering?

Im new to the worpress forum. But I tried using WP-Clone but it doesn't work with me.
I made the new website on my local pc and now I wanted to upload the wordpress website on mine hosting; mediatemple.
When I create the backup and try to upload it on the domain. It doesnt give an error but it just starts installing wordpress all over again on the domain. I dont get this, what am I doing wrong?
I really hope to hear from you soon because I dont know what to do.

I've encountered the following error when using WP Clone. I can create the back all ok. But when using the restore URL I keep getting the following error message
"The plugin encountered an error while downloading the zip file,the following error message was returned: It was not possible to save the request to a temporary file
Temporary files created in **SITE-ROOT**/wp-content/wpclone-temp will be deleted."
I have done the following: Increased the size of memory on the server, (at first i was running out of space and thought it might be the reason)
deactivated any currently running plugns on the new wordpress instance in case of conflicts or what have you.
Also the size of the site is around 1.5GB (if that helps at all)
Any further info would be great!

I installed the plugin on both websites, the one I wanna clone and the new domain, but when I copied the link, I got a fatal error message:
Cannot redeclare class Product_Subdomains in /homepages/.../wp-content/mu-plugins/product-domain.php on line 12
I don't know whether or not it's because I'm copying from a subdomain to a domain: from Envios to Hispano Envios
Anyone got a feedback?

It would be great if when you restore a clone you could select a different table prefix so that the clone won't override other wordpress installations. This is very useful when you have a single (or only a few) database in your hosting.

I have successfully used this plugin to transfer several sites from one location to another - thanks to the team for that.
The way I do this is by backing up the database only with WP-Clone fom the source site, backing up the wp-content folder, doing a fresh wordpress install, overwriting the wp-content folder then restoring the database wit WP-Clone.
I have a problem with just one site, on which after restoring the database using WP-Clone, I am redirected to the wordpress installation page. I believe this may be as a result of Wordpress not being happy with the database but I don't know how to diagnose, or fix, what's causing it.

I'm using WP Clone to copy a site from one server to another (from a flywheel demo site server to my client's server).
I keep getting this message when trying to restore on the new site:
Error Message : Restricted
Temporary files created in **SITE-ROOT**/wp-content/wpclone-temp will be deleted.
Also, I downloaded the zip file from the restore, and tried opening it on my computer. It wouldn't open, and I got this message: the compressed folder is invalid.
I have no idea what I'm supposed to do! Any ideas?

Using WP Clone, I made a backup of my WordPress template site and uploaded it to a new WordPress installation elsewhere. It has all worked great until I started creating posts. They show up on the home page but when I click into the post I get Error 404 - Not Found.
Any suggestions of how I can fix this problem?
