I'm a HUGE fan of Wp Clone. It has helped me countless time.

For the first time, though, I can't create a backup. I've tried at least 25 times, and I can't. After going to the original site I want to migrate and clicking on "Create Backup" a new page starts loading and then I get this:

Once in a while a backup will appear a couple of minutes later, but when I try to install that backup on the site I get a similar mistake on the new site.

Have used this excellent plugin many times over several years and it's just great. However, it's not working at this time for a new localhost installation. Here's the message I am getting:

I moved my website to an new url and afterwards noticed the Content by Country plugin is no longer rendering/working. I am guessing this is because the clone process didn't copy the ip database? Not sure how to proceed with tackling my issues any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I've used WP Clone to install a clone from a zip which has worked on 2 other installs but not on the most recent.

I get these error messages after which I cannot log back into the new account. Usernames and passwords are right but login not recognizing this?

What can I do to fix this?

I could not get the backup function to work after upgrading PHP to 7.0. Fortunately my cpanel has the PHP Selector, so I set it back to 5.6 and it works. I hope WP Academy has not abandoned this great plugin. It has a well-earned place on my Favorites list.

I’m an idiot. I have been having a heck of a time moving a site and thus made a really stupid mistake. I ran the find and replace script on my current site and now I can’t log in. I’m hoping someone can tell me what file I need to change or field in SQL to get my login to not point to the new domain. I’m hoping then I can rerun the WP Clone script to fix the current database.

Hi. I have used this plugin before for one of my websites and everything worked fine, back up and duplication worked just perfectly fine. Both original and cloned website are on same hosting – GoDaddy.

So I wanted to use the plugin today and I experienced the internal server 500 error. I found passed threads and tried the following:

1/ reinstall both WP and plugin on new website
2/ add clone .zip from another site in case the one I tried is broken
3/ try different version of WP
4/ copy .zip from old side to the relevant folder in new site and load the ORIGINAL .zip in the restore option
5/ copy .zip from old side to the relevant folder in new site and load the local.zip in the restore option
6/ change advanced settings to more mbs and secs as per author advices

None of the above worked for me. I spent 4+ hours trying and trying to do it with no success. The server gives an error and when I log again I see that only half of the content is copied. The pages with content in them are copied but not the theme, plugins and media which leads to multiple errors across the admin panel.

So from this point on I had manually fix everything else.

I think this is the best and easiest plugin to copy a website so please fix these errors.

When I tried to clone my site (large database), I received the following error…

I took a backup of an old site using WP-Clone before it was deleted. I took a local copy of the .zip file. I now need to restore the site. I have uploaded the .zip file to a server and put the URL in the WP-Clone ‘Restore from URL’ field but it won’t work. I have now moved it to /wp-content/uploads/wp-clone/archive.zip on the blank build I am restoring from. I have selected ‘Alternative Zip Method’ and I get the following error:

The plugin encountered an error while extracting the zip file using the PclZip library,the following error message was returned:

Error Message : PCLZIP_ERR_NO_ERROR (0) :

Temporary files created in **SITE-ROOT**/wp-content/wpclone-temp will be deleted.

“Request Timeout

This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase ‘Connection Timeout’. ”

I have my new site in a dev domain and it is ready to go live, I did the backup and everything works perfectly, but when i copy the backup URL to restore on the active site, i put the URL and start the restore but after around 1 minute it give me a 404 page not found error, and nothing happen.
